South Carolina

In South Carolina, five new criminal human trafficking cases were filed in federal court in 2021. Three defendants were convicted. 81 percent (13) of new defendants were charged with sex trafficking, and 19 percent (3) were charged with forced labor. South Carolina federal court ordered three of three convicted South Carolina human trafficking defendants to pay restitution to their victim(s) in 2021.
