Summary
The Global Human Resource (HR) Manager will play a significant role in the development and growth of HTI’s domestic (U.S.) and international HR strategies and oversee all high-level HR activities, including planning, design, and implementation of HR programs, policies, and processes regarding employee relations, performance management, recruiting, and onboarding. Additional tasks include providing leadership team members with HR-related advice and counsel, organizing training programs for employees, and collaborating with operations, finance, and HR team members to ensure all HR-related programs are successfully implemented around the globe. This position will report to the Vice President of Finance & Operations.
Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and oversee the implementation of HTI’s global HR strategies
- Create HR programs, policies, and processes and ensure they are successfully implemented and adhered to throughout HTI.
- Ensure HR strategies, plans, and programs are in accordance with domestic and international employment laws and regulations.
- Lead domestic and international HR staff and provide advice, support, and leadership to all program teams.
- Counsel leadership team members about HR-related matters.
- Create and oversee all staffing processes, including job scoping and job description development, recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding of new employees.
- Develop and execute the global HR strategy, aligning with HTI’s objectives and driving cultural alignment across all programs.
- Oversee the implementation and standardization of HR policies, processes, and programs globally.
- Collaborate with leadership and operations management to align HR initiatives with HTI’s goals, foster employee engagement, and drive talent management strategies.
- Drive the development and implementation of global HR programs, such as performance management, succession planning, and employee development.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws, regulations, and employment practices across various jurisdictions.
- Develop and monitor key HR metrics to assess HR effectiveness, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
- Lead global HR projects, such as HR system implementations, HR process harmonization, and global talent acquisition strategies.
- Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, including dispute resolution, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Manage and oversee compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance globally.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or relevant field required; SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
- Seven years of relevant work experience in HR, Infrastructure, and/or Operations; ideally within an international organization.
- Extensive experience in the development and implementation of HR and Operations processes and procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of global HR practices, employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

Summary
The Project Attorney will assist in the development and publication of the annual Federal Human Trafficking Report. They will focus primarily on the collection and analysis of data from federal human trafficking cases. Through detailed review of criminal human trafficking cases, the Project Attorney will support the report’s authors in the identification of current trends in federal human trafficking cases and the publication of a comprehensive written report documenting the key findings. The Project Attorney position is an exempt, remote position with the requirement of a minimum of 40 hours of commitment per week. The position will report directly to the Senior Project Attorney.
Responsibilities
- Identify federal human trafficking cases by conducting comprehensive and detailed searches on a variety of online platforms, including PACER, Westlaw, and Google, and conducting case identification cross check through communication with the United States Attorney’s Office.
- Review key case documents of federal human trafficking cases, including pleadings, judicial opinions, and relevant media sources and conduct daily.

General Description
The Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) Manager will ensure HTI’s programs decimate human trafficking by providing assessment and iterative improvement to those programs. The MERL Manager will lead and create an environment in which data and evidence are systematically produced, analyzed, interpreted; and establish how knowledge is institutionalized and utilized for program growth. This includes ensuring quality reporting and timely information for accountability across HTI’s global programs. This role will also provide data analytics from project monitoring, needs assessments, research studies, and other secondary sources to establish trends, patterns, and learnings for HTI programs. This position will report to the Vice President of Programs.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Establish frameworks, processes and procedures for quality assurance, monitoring, analysis, and reporting of global program data and information in consultation with the Global Programs Manager and Vice President of Programs.
- Draft and revise program MERL plans and key performance indicators, including detailed indicator definitions and activity tracking tables.
- Develop and lead specific research projects, including assessment and oversight of monitoring and evaluation best practices, data collection and analysis, and prevalence and other research studies throughout HTI’s global programs.
- Attend internal/external meetings and learning events as required to provide MERL updates to program stakeholders and HTI team members.
- Plan, coordinate, and provide oversight to prevalence research partners, external evaluation firms, and other technical consultants.
Systems & Processes
- Lead the development of data quality assurance plans, measurement and reporting tools, data collection and analysis tools, and presentation frameworks and databases.
- In coordination with the Programs and Advancement teams, develop and design theories of change and M&E frameworks for new grants and opportunities; ensure they align with relevant organization systems.
- Work with the Programs teams to collate and report data for donor reporting requirements, support data visualization, and produce reports and analyses that cater to various audiences.
- Enable processes in which research initiatives are derived from monitoring and evaluation data; work with global teams to better utilize research data.
- Contribute to knowledge management initiatives, especially data mapping, cataloguing, and management processes, in discussion with the Vice President of Programs.
Technical Support
- Take the lead in the design of research and evaluations, reviewing/developing relevant TORs, data analysis, and reviewing evaluation reports to inform HTI leadership.
- Provide research oversight and technical support to HTI’s programs teams and processes for quality reporting.
- Lead in capacity building of staff in MERL through training in various technical areas.
- Develop strategic partnerships with research organizations (including academic institutions), governmental institutions, and non-governmental organizations to support HTI’s research and programmatic work.
- Represent HTI at meetings and conferences related to MERL.
- Collaborate closely with HTI’s global staff and subject matter experts.
Education & Experience
- Master’s or Graduate degree required.
- Minimum 6 -8 years of MERL experience and strong understanding of methods; field/country office experience preferred with 2-3 years supervisory experience.
- Extensive experience with designing and undertaking research, monitoring & evaluation, including quantitative and qualitative methodologies and analysis, and data management.
- Experience with MERL as applied to criminal justice -human trafficking, child exploitation, OSEC, or related crimes preferred.

General Description
The Advancement Operations Manager is responsible for architecting and building the system that:
- Effectively and efficiently utilizes donor data (NetSuite CRM) and organizes information to support advancement efforts.
- Provides a prioritized list of opportunities ready to fund and ensures that funding opportunities align with organizational priorities.
- Support the creation of proposals, reports, and donor experiences that exceed donor expectation.
- Aligns internal, field-side and donor needs into one efficient system.
The Advancement Operations Manager will optimize advancement operations to support donor engagement with a focus on major donors. This role will be a critical liaison between fundraisers, the finance department, programs teams, and marketing efforts. The Advancement Operations Manager will also help architect, support and facilitate the utilization of HTI’s CRM (Netsuite for Nonprofits – an Oracle product) to maximize the donor pipeline, run analytics, and ensure data integrity. Working closely with the VP of Advancement, this role will drive key functions that enable HTI to meet its fundraising and program goals. This position reports to the VP of Advancement and collaborates across departments to ensure alignment with HTI’s growth strategy.
This role requires a breadth of skills – a systems builder, a senior project manager, cross-functional collaborator, and implementor/operator.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Oversee the development of a scalable advancement operations system that meets the needs of all internal (program, advancement, and finance teams) and external stakeholders with a focus on major donors, including leveraging existing programs tracking and reporting data.
- Manage and run the system, filling in where gaps exist.
- Create and maintain processes to improve donor engagement and data integrity within the CRM system.
- Improve utilization of CRM system including dashboard creation, saved searches, query writing, audience segmentation, system integration (e.g., email platform and CRM) and best practice architecture.
- Analyze data to improve major donor pipeline and opportunities.
- Conduct donor research via wealth screen tools to identify prospective donors and inform fundraising strategies.
- Help develop and manage proposals and impact reports to communicate the effectiveness of HTI’s programs to donors and stakeholders – this system should leverage existing programs tracking and reporting data.
- Collaborate with the program team to align donor offers with program needs, ensuring accurate planning and inventory management.
- Support special projects and tasks as assigned by the VP of Advancement, including resource gathering (especially stories), data analysis, general marketing efforts and cross-departmental initiatives.
- Liaise across departments to coordinate offer planning and designation strategies that align with HTI’s financial goals, ensuring accurate planning and inventory management.
- Collaborate with Grants Manager to create a grants compliance and reporting system to support private, institutional, and corporate grants.
- Support strategy, logistics, and materials to engage top stakeholders and partners through field visits, ensuring a meaningful experience with specific opportunities for philanthropic engagement.
- Segment data to help with general marketing efforts and cross-departmental initiatives.

Qualifications

Spring Legal Intern 2025

HTI’s Mission
The Human Trafficking Institute (HTI) exists to decimate human trafficking at its source by empowering police and prosecutors to stop traffickers. Working inside criminal justice systems, HTI provides the subject matter experts, world-class training, investigative resources, and evidence-based research necessary to protect victims and stop traffickers.
General Description
The Legal Intern performs research, writing, and management duties to support HTI’s domestic and international programs. Projects include writing articles on complex issues impacting human trafficking law, tracking federal appellate decisions in human trafficking cases, supporting HTI’s data collection and analysis, and contributing to the development and publication of HTI’s annual Federal Human Trafficking Report. We especially seek applicants who are passionate about pursuing careers as prosecutors and are committed to using their legal skills to advance justice for trafficking victims.
The Legal Intern position is fully remote and requires a 10-hour per week commitment for the Spring semester, beginning in January 2025 and ending in May 2025.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Research and write articles and memos on legal issues impacting human trafficking law in the United States as well as comparative law, or other anti-trafficking subjects as they arise.
- Collect, organize, and analyze data from ongoing anti-trafficking projects.
- Support HTI’s international and domestic programs with research and writing.
- Participate in detailed review process of completed data entries in Federal Human Trafficking database.
- Work with HTI staff members on various assignments on an as-needed basis.
