General Description
The Operations Associate will play a significant role in the development and growth of the Human Trafficking Institute. This individual will support all operational functions, including CRM and Finance with day-to-day transactions. The Operations Associate will be responsible for performing tasks as assigned; assisting other key members of the organization as needed and ensuring smooth daily operations.
A successful operations associate should be highly organized and have a versatile skill set to support a variety of different business functions with a diverse range of tasks.
This role reports to the Director of Finance and Operations
Responsibilities
Administrative
- Manage the Institute’s contact lists in NetSuite, including mailing and shipping needs related to donor mailings.
- Assist CRM Manager with keeping donor records up to date in NetSuite.
- Manage all mailing and shipping needs related to donors, including but not limited to: End of Year Tax documents, thank you cards, emails, etc.
- Enter Wealth Engine data into NetSuite as instructed by CRM Manager.
- Monitor and update CRM donor giving history for upcoming donor meetings.
- Event data entry into NetSuite and coordination with Finance for event expense tracking.
- Assist CRM Manager with pulling the required data for donor meeting preparation as needed.
Finanace/Human Resources/IT
- Add new vendors and staff to NetSuite and Concur and update current information with any approved changes.
- Generate and pay bills within Concur and NetSuite.
- Reconcile Brex credit card charges and Concur expenses monthly in NetSuite.
- Data entry for new employees or employee changes in Bamboo HRIS.
- Process payroll in Bamboo twice a month for approval
Qualificaions
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
- Ability to communicate with diverse audiences confidently and clearly.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, required.
- Experience with CRM, ERP and HRIS systems is preferred.

General Description – Uganda, Belize or South Africa
HTI seeks applicants with prosecution experience for a Special Counsel position, which will be positioned within Uganda, Belize or South Africa’s criminal justice system. The selected Special Counsel will work in the Office of Public Prosecution and collaborate closely with investigators and prosecutors handling human trafficking cases throughout Uganda, Belize or South Africa. This position reports directly to HTI’s Country Director in Uganda, Belize or South Africa. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Assist and provide legal expertise to ODPP Prosecutors on human trafficking prosecutions
- Advise, support, and conduct legal research for the specialized human trafficking investigation and prosecution units/personnel and the courts that hear human trafficking cases
- Maintain organized reports and detailed data regarding all human trafficking cases throughout Uganda, Belize or South Africa, including the full utilization of HTI’s TIPMAP program
- Develop relationships with law enforcement officers, prosecutors, and other relevant criminal justice stakeholders
- Facilitate coordination between investigators, prosecutors, and victim witness coordinators in human trafficking cases
- Coordinate and partner with other civil society organizations that provide services to human trafficking victims and on other issues related to human trafficking
- Identify barriers to effective prosecution of human trafficking cases in Uganda, Belize or South Africa and identify and execute strategies for overcoming those barriers
- Assist in preparing for and conducting human trafficking knowledge- and skills-based trainings for a variety of audiences

General Description
The Country Director will play a significant role in the development and growth of the Human Trafficking Institute within their designated Host Country assignment. This position will develop and maintain governmental partnerships and will lead HTI’s staff, operations, and projects in furtherance of HTI’s model in the assigned Host Country, establishing and supporting specialized units, conducting country HT assessments, and providing training and day-to-day mentorship. The Country Director will recruit, retain, and lead a specialized team of both Expatriates and Country National Employees.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Develop and maintain relationships with law enforcement officers, prosecutors, and other relevant local and national government officials in Host Country
- Communicate HTI’s vision and mission to government officials, practitioners, and other stakeholders
- Working with HTI’s Leadership and Advancement Teams to maintain/expand donor relations and fundraising to provide resources to support HTI Host Country (including engagement with international donors)
- Develop and manage the budget for HTI Host Country Program
- Oversee security and daily operations for HTI’s programs and in-country team

Summer Legal Intern 2024

Working inside criminal justice systems, HTI provides the subject matter experts, world-class training, investigative resources, and evidence-based research necessary to protect victims and stop traffickers.
General Description
The Legal Intern will perform research, writing, and management duties to support HTI’s domestic and international programs. Projects will include writing articles on complex issues impacting human trafficking law, tracking federal appellate decisions in human trafficking cases, supporting HTI’s data collection and analysis, and contributing to the development and publication of HTI’s annual Federal Human Trafficking Report.
The Legal Intern position requires a 10 hour per week commitment for summer beginning in May and ending in August.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Research and write articles and memos on legal issues impacting human trafficking law in the United States as well as comparative law, or other anti-trafficking subjects as they arise.
- Collect, organize, and analyze data from ongoing anti-trafficking projects.
- Support HTI’s international and domestic programs with research and writing.
- Participate in detailed review process of completed data entries in Federal Human Trafficking database.
- Work with HTI staff members on various assignments on an as-needed basis.
Skills and Experience
- Must be a rising 2 or 3L, or an LLM student with a minimum 3.0 GPA
